I have been discovering how difficult it is to ascertain the longevity of everything. While still keeping in mind the impertinent nature of time, namely change, it is so easy for the things intended to always be kept close, to slowly slip away. All that remains is to watch them pass through. Not because they couldn’t be held, but because the hands were tired of holding them. The numbing sensation between fingers brought the realisation that the time was borrowed. The wish to alter this outcome is often met with a meek resignation, “Would it be that bad if everything slipped away?”
