What if life had the save option, like a game? The journey split into multiple checkpoints, with an option to save your progress after each checkpoint has been crossed. Let’s take it a notch up. What if life had multiple slots to save the progress? We could have replayed parts of our journey till we got it all right, and we could also have lived multiple possibilities simultaneously, no what ifs. I have thought about it so many times, especially around some checkpoints where I wasn’t able to save the game to rerun the stretch and make it better. The allure to take the road less travelled also came with the farewell to the destinations of the rest of the roads.

Lately the urge for the save option has subsided. The last few milestones have not been the perfect runs themselves, but I’ve started enjoying the gameplay in more detail. The hurry to reach the next place has vanished. There are moments which are screenshot worthy, bringing a smile to my face and peace in my heart. I took myself to be a fairly content person, but now I am unsure. The jumps have been traded with exploration. I do not want to move hastily from one checkpoint to another or wish for a rerun upon something going out of place. I want to take my time and explore all there is to between the two checkpoints, irrespective of the outcome by its end.

I now know that I am on the journey that I would have yearned to be on. So, I will go where it takes me, humming every step along.
